Training and Certification

The Training Journey

Our aim is to develop a thriving community of Qualified Practitioners, who are competent and confident in the use of our products.

For all products, training starts with the Initial Training in the Apter Motivational Style Profile (AMSP). The rationale for this is to ensure that you have:

A sound training in the theoretical basis of our tools, which is Reversal Theory
A better understanding of your own motivational styles
Opportunities to practice giving feedback and prepare for working with groups

The Training Programme

The AMSP training programme is run over 2 days (Initial Training) + 1 day (Review Day). This initial two day course with a third follow-up day results in a qualification to use the AMSP with clients.

The course is suitable for:

Learning and development specialists
Training specialists
Human Resources
Career Counsellors
Line Managers

All training courses are held at Apter International’s Headquarters based at Loughborough University, Leicestershire.

In addition to attending the training days you will be required to undertake:

Pre-course reading
Completion of the AMSP on-line for yourself together with one other person (this profile is then used during the training programme).
Preparation for feedback/coaching rehearsal (after first day's training).

In preparation for the Review Day you will be expected to:

Have asked three others to complete the AMSP and to have provided feedback sessions to them.
Prepare feedback on your experiences for discussion on the day.
